Ummm…what’s wrong with people

I just read the article about a woman being raped by a man on a train, while witnesses either looked away or else allegedly pulled out their phones and filmed it? What the actual hell? I may be small, without muscle, but I certainly would have gotten up and said something. I realize that the perpetrator may have had a gun or some other weapon but my goodness!! This whole “do nothing, say nothing” attitude has to stop! What happened to good samaritans? How about keeping your community safe? This is both infuriating and heartbreaking.

What has become of humanity that we can look the other way while a fellow human being is hurt?

I have no more to say on this subject.

People really take that ‘none of my business’ thing way too far. How could anybody let somebody else be brutalize and FILM IT? Did they at least call the police? Did anybody offer help? Really?
    Ugh.

    XOXO

I can’t imagine standing by and letting this happen. While I am a coward at heart and no hero by any stretch of the imagination, I would like to believe my compulsion to stop someone’s suffering or protect them would overcome any fear I felt.

This is where my ice queen side comes in…and have no sympathies to give to whatever befalls humans.

On the other hand, at least filming the incident is doing SOMETHING useful. We would not have had the George Floyd protests if his killing had not been caught on film. That is cold comfort, though. I am upset by the situation but not surprised, and I doubt I would do any better.

It was hard to read that story. I share a lot of your feelings, JM. I would like to think I would have done something to help the victim.

Let us hope if and when we are in a similar circumstance we will do the right thing.
