Horrified and Heartbroken

My heart goes out to the families and friends of Uvalde,Texas. This should have never happened. It is something that should have been controlled after Sandy Hook. I still remember where I was and what I was doing when the tragedy at Sandy Hook occurred. I remember the shock that such violence had happened to innocent children and teachers.

I read an article yesterday that said that children are taught how to barricade and what to do in an active shooter situation. The author went on to say that this kind of burden shouldn’t be placed on children, that as adults, the burden to keep them safe should be ours.

No parent, uncle, aunt, cousin, sibling, friend should have to experience the loss of their loved ones in such a violent manner.

Something should have been done after Columbine.
Think how many lives might have been saved had we done something way back when.

  2. Sixpence Notthewiser Says:

    It’s so absolutely heartbreaking.
    Nineteen children. Two adults.
And still, in Texas they are more worried about what a child can READ.

    XOXO

I concur with Bob. I remember watching Columbine on live TV. Fuck the NRA and all the politicians who are enabling these massacres.

  4. Old Lurker Says:

Unfortunately, “horrified and heartbroken” is the new catchphrase the right-wing is using to react to these shootings, now that they are mocked for using “thoughts and prayers”.

I doubt this will be the shooting that motivates change. The crazies are in charge these days.

I believe nothing will change until somehow the Senate if rid of the GOP ones in charge. They have gun-lovers as their main supporters who will not allow one item of compromise.
