Too Much?

So in an effort to keep myself busy, I have said “Yes” to all volunteer activities. And these past three weeks have taken its toll on me. I’m just tired. I haven’t gotten to use the treadmill. I haven’t done anything socially related (dinner with friends, drinks–except when I get home from said volunteer activities and I have a glass of wine or three or the whole bottle).

I believe I may have written a post about learning to say no.

I have gained weight, which I plan to lose. I need to get back in shape. I need to use the treadmill more and I need to eat better.

Monday–starts a new week for me!! After all I have to eat all the junk food in the freezer and cupboards before I buy lettuce, kale and broccoli again.

    Oh boy…love you all the more for eating Kale. Your better then I. Yuck. Now Brussel Sprouts….I love those. And yes….volunteering is good and warms the soul, but it can be tiring if you bite more off then we can chew. I’ll be glad when elections are over. I have been doing volunteering with the PA Democratics…and just started at the local ASPCA like I did in Bucks County.

    When I retire, which is at least a half a decade or more away, I’d like to do volunteer work, something that’s LGBTQ-related. But work right now is too stressful, and when I get home I just want to stay there.

    Ok, so I feel you because I decided to do too much this semester and now I’m sorry I didn’t say no. What I’d do if I were you, is to choose just one (maybe two, but no more) of those volunteering activities and keep on doing them. But only if they are spaced out during the week. And only if only one is on weekends.
    As for the exercise, wake up ten minutes earlier and GET ON THAT MACHINE. I wake up ten minutes earlier on Monday and Wednesday to stretch. It’s fab.
    I can’t with Kale. Too fucking chewy. Great for fiber, horrible to eat raw.

    Work takes everything out of me. I can’t believe I ever used to work and volunteer and socialize…pleas make time to relax.
